Joni Okun graduated magna cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis, then earned her J.D. degree from Saint Louis University School of Law. She served as law clerk to a federal judge, drafting proposed legal opinions based on court proceedings and legal research. Ms. Okun subsequently worked for several years as counsel for a federal contracting agency, where she was an international litigator. As an Adjunct Professor at Webster University in St. Louis and at Rollins College in Florida, Ms. Okun taught Legal Research and Writing and Legal Ethics to paralegals. She also practiced Business and Employment published a chapter in “An Overview of Title VII” in Judicial Conferences for the Florida Bar.
A member of the Historical Writers Society, Ms. Okun is passionate about reading and writing fiction. For the past five years, she has taken courses with Stanford’s Writers Workshop, and participates in a critique group. She has been in the same wonderful book group for years. Joni lives in Florida with her husband and two exceptionally destructive silky terriers.
